Community Links and Partnerships
Community Links
As part of our drive to become an ‘outward facing’ school, we are actively involved in a number of local initiatives. From choir performances at local care homes and Remembrance Day events to being part of the Denmead Business forum and getting involved in Dementia Friendly action planning, DJS continues to grow and strengthen our links with the Denmead Community.
Now firmly established in the school calendar are:
Denmead All Saints Church
The school works alongside the church, with visits both inside the school and at the church for various events throughout the year.
Denmead Junior School Christmas Fair
Usually held immediately after school on a Friday night. Open to everyone in the community to spread Christmas cheer and to raise money for the school.
Denmead Schools (Infant and Junior) Summer Fair
Usually held one Saturday afternoon in late June/early July. Open to everyone in the community to enjoy an afternoon of children friendly activities, (bouncy castles, slides, go carts, horse and cart rides), stalls to buy gifts, and plenty of food and drink. This is the school's big fundraising activity of the year.
