Welcome to Denmead Junior School’s website, I hope that you find the information here useful.
I became Head Teacher of Denmead Junior School in September 2020 in the middle of the global pandemic. Straight away, I was struck by how warm and welcoming everybody is here at Denmead Juniors, both adults and children alike. My staff team work extremely hard to make the school a wonderful place for the children to come into and learn. Moreover, the children at the school are delightful and keen to learn more.
One recent thank you card from a parent read:
"I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate both you and your staff for the amazing influence you have had on my daughter. These past few years have been tough for us all, dealing with a pandemic and for some, personal loss. As a military veteran, I appreciate more than some, the courage of those who selflessly face adversity. The commitment to education and the dedication of you and your staff to caring for our children through covid is nothing short of heroism.
Children have had to grow up far quicker and deal with far more than you or I ever had to deal with as children, it’s the unwavering support of the school which has helped the children stay strong and focussed on their academic studies. Of course, DJS offers far more than a happy and safe place to learn, the emotional support offered to my daughter from your staff during this time, is still evident today.
She leaves DJS a better person, we are so proud of what she has achieved and who she has become. From the support of the wonderful reception staff to the professionalism of your teaching staff, they have all influenced and helped shape the beautiful person she has grown into. You and your staff have afforded her the best possible platform to progress her studies and having instilled the right morals and ethos, embodied so deeply in all you do, she has a real chance to succeed in everything she does."
That, quite simply, is our aim – for every child to be a happy and enthusiastic child who loves learning and who has the best possible chance to succeed in the future!
Our school motto is ‘Inspiring Curiosity, Building Success’. We believe that through all our work here, we are creating an environment where every child's curiosity is truly ignited and are building their future success.
